This spring, Nancy Alcorn celebrates the 20th anniversary of Mercy Ministries, which offers God's hope and healing to girls struggling with addictions, eating disorders, unwed pregnancy, and abuse—girls not so unlike the bulimic teen she once was.

My niece was on a road to self-destruction. She took an overdose of drugs while staying in my home. Even though she was raised in a Christian family, she was struggling with an eating disorder and very low self-esteem. We read about Mercy Ministries and contacted them. After much prayer and persuasion, my niece agreed to apply to Mercy for help. She was accepted and after several months graduated from their program. She is now a glowing testimony for Jesus Christ. She is back in college and this summer serves as a counselor at a Christian camp. I recommend this ministry with all my heart!

Thank you for doing such a wonderfully informative article on Nancy. What a heart of compassion God has given her for girls in need of help. What a fantastic ministry has come out of that heart! Amazing what God can do with a life fully surrender to Him. Thank you Jesus and thank you Nancy for being the willing vessel!

Thank you so much. I struggle with daily physical and mental pain from Fibromyalgia. I am also a recovering alcoholic / addict. I am getting marrried on JUne 2, 2007 to the most wonderful Christian man. The Lord has blessed us in so many ways. Any suggestions on this struggle I have with Fibromyalgia. Doctors don't know enough so I must trust and rely on THe LOrd. Somedays are just tougher than others.
