Eddie and Cheri Keaggy share a passion for music ministry. Touring the nation, Cheri shares Christ through song while Eddie supports Promise Keepers events as a sound technician. With two children and two ministries, how do the Keaggy's find unity?

How did you encourage each other as your ministries grew?

Cheri: Eddie saw possibilities in me and encouraged me. When I was faced with something new, he'd be there to say I could do it. For example, when I sang at home, Eddie asked, "Why don't you sing at church?" With his encouragement, I went from singing a solo at church to writing my own songs.

Eddie: When I mixed for concerts, Cheri would hang out afterward and help roll mic cables with me. Now, she helps get me ready for trips, and she covers me in prayer. It's all the little things she does that make my trips go smoothly.

How do you handle parenting and your mobile ministries?

Cheri: We try to be wise about not over committing ourselves during the year. After we look at our upcoming schedules, we take one weekend at a time and make decisions to accept or decline engagements. We've been so intentional about making it fun for the kids if Eddie or I leave town for a weekend that they look forward to it.

Eddie: We talk all the time about our priorities. We have learned the importance of nurturing our relationship and family, even in the really busy seasons, when Cheri and I might be in different cities on the same weekend.

How do you nurture your marriage?

Cheri: Since we share a common ministry, we understand the stresses that we deal with. And since we're very busy we have to be mindful of making time for our relationship. God is at work in both of us, and our love is worth the sweat and tears and labor.

Eddie: We have to make a conscious effort not to spend all of our time together talking about the "music business" and checking things off of our to-do list. We do a lot of mid-week lunch dates when the kids are in school. We also make a concerted effort to extend grace to each other when we are stressed with the demands of our careers.
