I can see where many of the comments are coming from. But I do think this is a helpful little tool. For one, I was thinking it was to be used *in addition to* considering a person's character and walk with Christ, and in tandem with an understanding of the person's spiritual gifts. Secondly, the questions have underlying spiritual principles behind them -- certainly the Word has a lot to say about people pleasing and destructive behaviors making for poor leadership. Thirdly, we need to be careful not to OVERspiritualize our decisions, using wisdom and reason -- backed by and bathed in prayer -- when making choices as to who should lead a ministry, because someone can make a fantastic spiritual example, and can be a fruitful servant of the Lord in their areas of gifting, but can similarly be a less-than-effective *leader of people or activities*. We need to consider both a person's character and gifting, AND his or her ability to guide others or projects well, when identifying leaders.

Not a single spiritual qualification or servant quality in the survey. What a joke. How about starting with the requirements for an Edler in Titus 1:6-9 and going from there (there are other NT passages that speak to leadership qualities as well) "Does this person feel the thrill of a challenge?" Are you serious? Now feelings are a criteria for leadership? Good grief.

This survey is somewhat of a joke based on business principles and worldly evaluations. I'm sick and tired of this kind of junk going on in the Christian world. Let us not take our cues from the world but let the world take its cues from us.

The survey asked decent questions. However, we need to ask more questions about that person's relationship with God. How is their faith manifested in their daily lives? What are their gifts? Not just qualities of leadership. What specifically is this person blessed with, that will suit the present needs of your Church ministry? To Pastor Fitz: Re: the above comment. I understand your perspective, but was there a better way to express it? Leaders are always seasoned with salt.

I nearly laughed out load until I realized you are serious. After reading the article "The Most Important Leadership Quality". You want Jesus Christ Himself. Leaders wash feet, like Jesus. the world does not really want a (servant king) leader on his knees. Help us get on our knees and serve. please respond. Pastor Fitz
